We are looking forward to participants from all over the world, die honoured members of the jury, Klavierbegleiter und Gäste!
The organizers of the 55th Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition regret to announce that this year's competition for horn and tuba, which was planned for the period from May 7 to 16, has to be cancelled.
With this we follow the recommendations of the government and the authorities on how to deal with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, because we see ourselves as responsible for participants, jurors, piano accompanists and all those involved in the competition. With the cancellation we want to support the current measures to protect against a further spreading of the virus. It is important to us to always ensure fair and equal conditions for participants from all countries for the competition in Markneukirchen, which would not be possible under the current circumstances with travel restrictions and difficulties in individual competition preparation, for example due to closed universities.
At the same time, we would like to inform you already now that the 57th Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition will be held from 5 to 14 May 2022 for the subjects horn and tuba. The subjects oboe and trombone, which were originally planned for this period, will be moved to 2024.
