In case the prizewinner lives abroad and is not obliged to pay taxes in Germany, the International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen observes the German Income Tax Law (§50 a EStG) and deducts taxes from the prize money.

The prizewinners are obliged to receive their prizes personally; they will be presented to them during the concert at the Musikhalle Markneukirchen on 16 May 2020 at 7 p.m.

The first prizewinners are given the title "First prizewinner of the International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen of 2020“.

The second and third prizewinners are entitled to call themselves  "Prizewinner of the International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen of 2020“.

Participants in the final rounds receive diplomas.

At the suggestion of the jury the best piano accompanists can be honoured with a diploma.

Schaer Bertacco prize
Armin Schaer and Cornelia Bertacco Schaer donate a special prize of 2,000 Euro to promote further musical education, for example in the form of masterclasses, for the best female tuba participant in the competition, according to the vote of the jury
