Advance ticket sales for opening and prizewinners' concert

This year, Markneukirchen and the music world can look back on 60 years of international instrumental competitions in the Vogtland town of music! An anniversary that testifies to this town's love of music, its musical instrument making as a lifeline and the outstanding position of this first-class competition of young musicians worldwide.

Let us celebrate this event together - at the symphony concert at the opening of the 60th International Instrumental Competition and at the prizewinners' concert. Experience an extraordinary evening right at the beginning of the competition days on Friday, 9 May 2025, 7.30 pm, which will bring four prizewinners from previous competitions together on stage; plus the Markneukirchen Symphony Orchestra and - for the first time at an opening concert - the choir of Markneukirchen Grammar School. The programme includes Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, his Symphony No. 1 and Mozart's Sinfonia concertante for 4 wind instruments and orchestra.

The final prizewinners' concert on Saturday, 17 May 2025 at 7.00 pm also promises musical enjoyment at the highest level, including Beethoven's violin concerto, a viola concerto from the time of W.A. Mozart and selected works from the competition programme.
