Preparation
- Arrival and registration will take place on Wednesday, 7 May 2025 until 6 p.m. in the Musikhalle Markneukirchen (An der Musikhalle 16, 08258 Markneukirchen).
If an enrolled and confirmed participant is late due to justified reasons, the participant can take part in the competition on the president’s agreement, on condition that he or she arrives during the first round.
- The competition consists of three rounds and a final round with orchestra. All rounds are open to the public.
- Rehearsals on the stage (category violin) and rehearsals with pianists (category viola) for the first round take place on Thursday, 8 May 2025. Rehearsal times will be given out upon arrival by the competition office. All participants and accompanists must keep to these given times.
The drawing of the order of the competition takes place on Thursday, 8 May 2024 at 7 p.m. in the Musikhalle Markneukirchen (An der Musikhalle 16, 08258 Markneukirchen).
Following the drawing of the order, the times of appearance will be announced by a notice in the information office (in the Musikhalle Markneukirchen), in the places of competition as well as on the website of the competition (www.instrumental-competition.de). All participants have to keep to these given times. All participants are obliged to inform themselves about their time of appearance.
In the competition, the candidates will appear in alphabetical order (family names). Before the start of the competition, a draw will determine which candidate will start the competition. The resulting order will be binding for all three rounds. For the final round, the order of performance will be re-drawn.
The reahearsal times for the second round of the competition are to be arranged personally by the participant with its official accompanists (category viola), respectively with the jury secretaries (category violin) on 8 May 2024 after the drawing of the order. Rehearsals for the third round are to be arranged directly with the official pianists. Participants with a private accompanist shall arrange their rehearsal times in the information office of the competition (in the Musikhalle Markneukirchen).The competition will start on Friday, 9 May 2025, at 9 a.m.
All participants are obliged to be present at the place of appearance thirty minutes before their performance. This regulation is not valid in the case of circumstances outside the participants’ responsibility.
