Category Tuba: 87 applications from 26 countries for the competition 2022

After the registration deadline for the horn category had already expired on 10 January 2022 and a field of applicants emerged that is more international than ever before in this subject, the Markneukirchen competition organisers are now pleased about 87 registrations in the tuba category - the second category of this year's 57th Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition. With 26 different countries from 6 continents, the picture here is also decidedly international. It is remarkable that for the first time in the history of the Markneukirchen competition, an application from Ecuador was accepted. Venezuela is also a novelty for the tuba.

All 87 applicants aged between 16 and 33 are now cordially invited to present their skills in the four public rounds of the demanding competition from 5 to 14 May 2022. As in 2020, applications from Japan form the largest group with 25 entries, followed by Germany and the USA (7 each).
